NARROW ESCAPE
DUCHESS AND CHILDREN. INVOLVED IN MOTOR COLLISION. NO ONE INJURED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received July 27, 1 p.m.) LONDON, July 26. The Duchess of Kent and her children, Prince Edward and Princess Alexandra, had a narrow escape when the car in which they were going to Sandwich, while descending Wrotham Hill in Kent, collided with a car ascending the hill. The side of the Royal car was damaged and the window broken. An Automobile Association scout, after assurance that no one was injured, sought assistance. The Duchess for half-an-hour until the arrival of the relief car sat in a field comforting the children. Prince Edward was in tears. A man from a mobile coffee bar, not knowing the identity of the party, helped the Duchess with the cradle over a fence into a field.
The party later journeyed in a relief car to the curiously-named Blonrtv Point House, Sandwich Bay, where' the Duke and Duchess intend leaving the children for a seaside holiday while they go to the Continent on July 28.' The Duke was in London, and was
informed of the accident by telephone, being told that all was well.
