Monday 29.60 Tuesday 29.75 Thermometer. Max. Min. Sunday 52 39 Monday 54 45 Mean Temperature, 49.5 deg. The barometer reads 29.75 and is rising. Unsettled weather is indicated to-day and to-morrow with lower temperature, south - westerly winds prevailing and heavy showers. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .27in. Rainfall for previous 48 hours, l.Olin. Rainfall for July to date, 2.99in. Average rainfall for July, 4.83in. Rainfall for year to date, 26.97in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist!. The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WalkutoThames Valley Is as follows. Forecast: Moderate to strong south-westerly winds, decreasing gradually to-mor-*ow. Weather cold and changeable, with occasional showers at most places and some hail. Seas moderate in coastal waters; moderate to rather rough but decreasing off shore.

General inference: The intense anti-cyclone which has been moving across Australia during the past few days is extending over the Tasman Sea, especially the northern portion. At the same time the depression to the eastward is passing away. Pressure has, therefore, risen considerably over the Dominion. A series of slight secondary depressions continues, however, to cross the South Island.
