RABBITSKIN SALE. IMPROVED DUNEDIN DEMAND. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. (Dunedin), report as follows: — We offered a large catalogue to a full bench of buyers at our rabbltskln 6ale on Thursday. There was an Improved demand with firmer • prices for all grades of winters with the exception of prime and first winter bucks which were Id. to 2d. easier. The demand for winter does was muoh stronger, and these generally were from 7d. to lid. per lb. firmer. Spotted, outgoing and spring grades of bucks were from 4d. to lOd. per lb. firmer than last sale’s rates. Low grades were firm. The following are the prices realised for main grades:—Prime winter bucks 160 d, first do. 158 d, second do. 14.3 d, early do. 133 d, 'first spot do. 134 d, second spot do. 113 d, third spot do. 86d, second early 128 d, Incomings 96d, second do. 90d; prime winter doe«* 7 112 d, first do. lOfid, second do. 9G£d, early do. 97d, first spot do. 87id, second spot do. 71d, third spot do. 52d, second early do. 86d; autumns 8 id, second do. 79d, early do. 70d, dawny do. 48d; racks, 45id; winters, broken, to 88id; summers to 84d; milky does, to 50d; fawns to 104 d; hareskins to 50d; ferretsklns to 4s 6d.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, Dunedin, report as follows: The offering at Thursday’s sale was heavier than last, with a good selection of winter skins. Prices recovered after their drop on the Bth inst., and good winter bucks may be quoted firm on last sale’s rates, with an advance of 6d to 12d for outgoings and springs. Doe« were in strong demand for all grades, with good winters 9A to 12d higher. All other sorts, including low grade skins, met with good competition at prices Id to Gd dearer. The following are the prices realised:— Small, 234 d per lb; runners, 30d; light x*acks, 45d; prime racks, 45i; dawny autumns, 48d; early autumns, 61 id; late autumns, 88id; second early autumns, 55*d; second late autumns, 83Ad; first incoming winters, 98d; second incoming winters, 94<td; first early winter bucks, 133 d; first early winter does, 94 id; -second early winter bucks , 126 d; second early winter does, 86d; prime winter bucks, 160 d; first winter bucks, 158 d; second winter bticks, 139 d; spotted winter bucks, 128 d; outgoing winter bucks, 112 d; spring bueks, 7Gd; prime winter does, 112 d; first winter does, 106 d; second winter does, 96id; spotted winter does, 86d; furrier winter does, 9 4 id; outgoing winter does, 69d; spring -does, 52id; summer bucks, 33Jd; summer does, 29Jd; first milky, 45id; second milky, 30fd; second winter blacks, 73d; ilrst winter blacks, 10Id; winter fawns, 96d; hareskins, 51 id.
