THE 1921 GAME.

VERY CLOSE FINISH. The 1921 touring Springbok team played Waikato at the Showgrounds on August 31, this match being late in the tour. The spectators turned out in hundreds, the 'day being fine with a light- breeze with the ground on the soft side. In the first half Morkel crossed the line for South Africa from a bright back movement, the score being unconverted, and a few minutes later, de Villiers kicked a penalty goal to make the half-time score 6 nil in the visitors favour. In the second spell there was no further score, the visitors Just winning the match. The team only suffered two losses
