Yet very tact fully counsel I manag' d to bend the iron rule when fixtures were being made in Ihe Palm- i pin lon North Supreme Court on Friday, j “Perhaps Hie jury would appreciate your taking a half-day fixture on Aug- I list i,” suggested counsel to His Honour. As counsel happened to be a Rugby enthusiast and August 4 is the date fixed for the match with the Springboks in Palmerston North, those who heard smiled. His Honour, however’, failed to observe the hint and counsel had to be more direct. But he was on safe ground for Mr Justice Ostler, himself one-time captain of Horowhenua representatives, was full of sympathy and arranged tlie calendar so as to avoid coming back on that Wednesday afternoon.
