i MEETING AT MATANGI. INTERESTING SCRIPTURAL ADDRESS. The annual meeting- or the Matang-1 branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society was held In the Matangi Hall recently, when the president, Mrs Marychurch presided. Miss Henry, organising secretary for the Hamilton area, was present, and there was a large attendance. The financial statement showed an Increase on the previous year, great credit being due to the efforts or the collectors, who were thanked Tor their good work. Miss Henry gave a very Interesting scriptural address, and also explained the alms and Ideals or the Bible Society in many lands. She made special mention or the Importance or the work being done In New Zealand, and or the benefits derived from the distribution or the Scriptures. The election of officers Tor the ensuing year resulted in Mrs Marychurch being re-elected president, and Mrs McDowell re-elected secretary, with Miss J. McDowell as assistant.
