RAGLAN NOTES.

500 EVENING. The fortnightly 500 evening In aid of St. Peter's Anglican Church, Raglan, was successfully run by the Ladies’ Guild in the Social Club rooms recently. The winners were Mrs Reynolds and Mr McGruer. Supper was served by the ladies and afterwards the vicar, the Rev. Wallace, spoke of the excellent work being done for the Church by Mr A. IS. Reynolds, and thanked him on behalf of the parishioners. TENNIS CLUB DANCE. The Raglan Tennis Club’s annual dance took the form of a fancy dress ball and was a great success. The Town Ilall was beautifully decorated with nikau palms and streamers, and with the fancy costumes presented a colourful scene. The judges were Mesdames Fenwick (Manurewa) and Harr (Auckland), and the prizes were awarded as follows: Best-dressed lady. Miss J. Grin Union (Old English Lady); most original lady. Miss Fuller (Coronation); best-dressed man. Mr A. Nolan (Indian) ; original man, Mr L. Dando (Danger Signals). A special prize for the best set was awarded to the Chain Gang, who after parading the hall sapg "The Prisoner's Song.” Mesdames It. Orr and Eric Carr ments, and Mr O. G. Crhilinlonovas M.C.
