FALL FROM A WINDOW.

DROP FROM SEVENTH FLOOR. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, July 25. The Countess of Cardigan, who recently returned from South Africa, was killed by falling from a seventh floor window of the' Savoy Hotel, where she was staying alone. The countess, who was in evening dress, fell near three children who were playing in the street.

The Countess of Cardigan before her marriage in 1924 was Miss Joan Salter, daughter of Mr S. Salter, of Ryde, Isle of Wight. Her husband, the Earl of Cardigan, is the son of the sixth Marquess of Ailesbury. There are two sons of the marriage.
