Semple, had a distressing experience when motoring from Lithgow to Sydney last night, accompanied by the member of Parliament for Hartley, Mr Hamilton Knight.

The chauffeur of the car. Mr John Fowler, suddenly became ill at Hartley \ale and died in Mr Semple's arms. Mr Knight drove Mr Semple back to Lithgow, where he remained for the night.

The late Mr Fowler was tho personal chauffeur of the Premier, Mr B. S. Stevens.
