ARMY LEAGUE.
FORMATION IN BRITAIN. REPORT TO THE GOVERNMENT. ADEQUATE LAND FORCES. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received July 26, 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 25. The intention to form an Army League on somewhat similar lines to the Navy League was announced in a report addressed to the Government by Lieutenant-Colonel L. Amery, Lord Lloyd, Lord Milne and others. The League will stress the need for adequate land forces, assist recruiting, and recommend better pay and conditions.
The signatories state that a central reserve of man power is required to enable the dispatch of two divisions to reinforce threatened points within the Empire. This would form the nucleus of an expeditionary force in the event of war against a major power.
