PEOPLE’S C.. CAT INDIGNATION. DEATH OF THE PATRIARCH. United Press Assn.-—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received July 26, 1 p.m.) BELGRADE, July 25. With the exception of the Minister of War, the Government will not be represented at the funeral of the Patriarch and the election of his successor owing to the Orthodox Bishop excommunicating Ministers and members of Parliament who voted for the Concordat. Indignation against them Is so great that Prince Paul, when he visited the Cathedral where the Patriach is lying in state, was not accompanied by Ministers, who had been warned that they would be turned out if they entered the cathedral. This Indignity has already 'befallen the Minister of Justice, with whom the Synod also refused to discuss the Concordat. Two Parliamentarians who were visiting the Patriach’s palace to express condolences at his death were beaten by the crowd, and one was so manhandled that he was taken to hospital. Angry women tore to shreds their coats and hats. The populace regard the Patriach’s death In the midst of the crisis a national tragedy.

Thousands of men, women and children wept as they filed before the body, kissing the coffin.
