LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. The following local observations on the weather are supplied toy Miss Budd, of Messrs Balfour. Irvine and Webster, Limited, Hamilton: Barometer. Saturday 30.10 Monday 29.60 Thermometer. Max. Min. Friday 56 34 Sunday 52 39 Mean Temperature, 45 deg. The barometer reads 29.60 and has very little movement. Indications are for partly fair to partly cloudy weather with heavy showers, mild temperature and south-west winds prevailing. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 46 hours ended 9 o'clock this morning, l.Olin. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .OOin. Rainfall for July to date, 1.71in. Average rainfall for July, 4.83in. Rainfall for year to date, 26.70in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WalkutoThames Valley Is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to strong southerly to southwesterly winds. Weather cold and changeable with passing showers. Seas rather rough to rough. General inference: A complex depression crossed the Dominion during the weekend, and a rather deep centre is located north of Chatham Island to-day. A secondary depression is crossing the southern portion of the South Island. An intense anticyclone covers most of Australia, and is extending on to the north Tasman Sea.
