SERIES AT WHANQAREI. WIIA N G ARE I, Monday. Three accidents occurred on Saturday at sporting fixtures. Playing football at Pipiwai, Pera Herewini (29) received a fracture of a small bone in the face and an injury to one eye. Cecil Patterson, (23), who was playing for Kia Toa, received a badly bruised thigh. Medjelko Kokich (28). was hit with a hockey stick and received a bad fracture and dislocation of a finger. AUCKLAND. Monday. An injury to a leg was suffered by ' W. Johnson when playing for the City team against Richmond on Saturday. Two other football players. Melville Millar, and Leslie Smith, wtio were taking part in a match at Henderson Domain were hurt, Millar suffering an ■ injury to a shoulder and Smith an injury to one feet-
