GERMAN DEFENCE TAX. A HITLER DECREE. United Press Assn. -Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received July 24, 12.30 p.m.) BERLIN, July 23. Herr Hitler has assured a decree imposing a special defence tax, by which every man liable for active service, with an income of over £4 a month will have to pay a proportion of his wages until the age of 45. The lax will range up to 50 per cent, of his income lax for the first three years, down to 6 per cent, thereafter.
