Six membe’rs of the Royal Air Force were killed when a three-engined bomber crashed in flames in the Derbyshire hills. Villagers saw three Verey lights fired just before the crash and the engine seemed to be misfiring. The crash occurred near the summit of the Kinder Scout mountain (200 ft.). The machine burned furiously for 30 minutes. The victims have not been identified yet. The fact that it was an Air Force machine was only established by the discovery of a notebook near the scene.
