SIX MEN KILLED
CRASH OF A BOMBER. COMES DOWN IN FLAMES. THE VICTIMS NOT IDENTIFIED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright LONDON, July 23. Six membe’rs of the Royal Air Force were killed when a three-engined bomber crashed in flames in the Derbyshire hills. Villagers saw three Verey lights fired just before the crash and the engine seemed to be misfiring. The crash occurred near the summit of the Kinder Scout mountain (200 ft.). The machine burned furiously for 30 minutes. The victims have not been identified yet. The fact that it was an Air Force machine was only established by the discovery of a notebook near the scene. It was the year’s worst Air Foroe crash. YOUNQ PILOT’S FEAT. REMARKABLE SKILL SHOWN. MACHINE BROUGHT TO SAFETY. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 22. A young pilot, Roland F&lk, showed remarkable skill in an emergency yesterday by bringing a twin-engined air liner safely to earth at the Croydon aerodrome when the retractable wheels jammed.

T.wo fishermen reported that they saw the Royal Air Force plane, which was reported yesterday to be missing, crash into the sea three miles from Point Cook at noon on Thursday. Two pilot officers, Ernest Hyde (20) and Charles Houston (23), were on board the plane.

After an explosion in mid-air a military plane crashed In pieces into Lake Vettern. The pilot was drowned, but the observer was rescued. The machine was engaged In machine-gun exercises, and It Is believed the propeller was shot away, causing the motor race to explode.
