LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. The following local observations on the weather axe supplied by Miss Budd, of Messrs Balfour, Irvine and Webster, Limited, Hamilton: Barometer. Friday 30.10 Saturday 30.10 Thermometer. Max. Min. Thursday 55 40 Friday 56 34 Mean Temperature, 45 deg. The barometer reads 30.10 and has very little movement, indications are for fuir to cloudy weather to-day and to-morrow, with seasonable temperature and south-west winds prevailing- ’ The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .00in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .10in. Rainfall for July to date, i.7lin. Average rainfall for July, 4.83in. Rainfall for year to date, 25.69in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WalkutoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to strong northerly winds, rising in places to gale force, later backing to westerlies. Weather cloudy and unsettled with rain developing. Temperatures mild. Seas rather rough. General inference: A vigorous depression, which is being followed by several secondaries, covers the eastern Tasman Sea and is moving on to the Dominion.
