TE KAWA NOTES.

DANCE FOR CHURCH FUNDB. The Te Kawa Hall presented a very gay appearance on Wednesday evening when a very successful dance was held In aid of the Roman Catholio Church funds. The hall was prettily decorated with coloured streamers and greenery, and rose-coloured shades over the lamps shed a soft light. Brown’s Orchestra played excellent music and extras were played by Mrs Sexton and Miss Annibal. During the evening there were several novelty dances. Miss Rosalind O’Brien danced the Highland Fling in costume and gave an Irish Jig, both of which were warmly appreciated, and Miss MoPhillips (Otorohanga) gave two very enjoyable recitations. Vocal items given by Messrs Annibal and Linehan, accompanied by Misses Annibal and P. North respectively, were much appreciated. Progressive euchre was played, the prize-winners being Mrs O’Connor and Mr Broadbent. A large number of visitors was present from Te Awamutu, among them being:— Mesdames O’Brien, wearing- marina blue and sliver threaded cloque; W. Pollard, blue lace; Pryor, black tarretas; Ryan, brown cloque talTetas; O’Connor, brown figured crepe de chine; Hamilton, prune niarocain; Older, floral crepe de chine. Misses H. Civil, gold coronation satin; P. North, figured moss crepe; N. Potts, lemon and black tunic Trock; .N. Annibal, green and white floral silk pique; M. Weal, green floral dimity; P. McGovern, ivory and black tunic frock; Older, primrose floral georgette; A. Weal, pink floral dimity; B Chillingworth, shell-pink chirfon velvet; N. Turnwald, floral crepe de chine. Among others present were:—Mesdames O. M. Coverdale, wearing coronation gold satin cocktail suit; J. Wallis, Marina blue cloque tafl'etas; Ptvac. black lace and crimson rose; Plewman. blue crepe suede; A. Scholes, vieux rose cloque tarretas; Chestnut, flame moss crepe; Leek, brown Chantilly lace; Broadbent, green and white floral silk; Jane, wine talTetas; Sexton, sapphire blue marocain; Ritchie, moonlight blue crepe de chine; Garret, primrose taffetas; Lumsden. wine crepe de chine; Teln, brown and gold crepe suede; Armltage, navy and gold silk pique.
