Mr F. J. Farrell has returned to Hamilton from a tour in Australia. Mr S. L. Searell has left Hamilton to take up a Government position In Wellington. Mr Gordon Mcßeth, of Wanganui, will adjudicate in the Instrumental sections at the Manawatu Competitions at Palmerston North. Dr. Muriel Emma 'Bell and the Hon. J. Alexander have been appointed members of the Board of Health under the Health Act l'or a period of three years. Mr Norman Davis, an Otago Rhodes Scholar for 1934, has received an appointment as a lecturer in the University at Kaunas, Lithuania, where he will take up his duties In September. Sir Ernest Davis, Mayor of Auckland, who left on June 28 for a holiday in Fiji, and later proceeded to Sydney by the liner Strathnaver, will return to Auckland by the Mariposa on Monday. Messrs. W. E. Knight, W. H. Couper (Dannevirke* . S. Dignan, C. H. Andrews, A. Lynskev, E. Plimmer, J. C. l.ustm (Wellington . J. T. Dickie. W. .1. Morrison (Ihristchurch . .V Shannon and L. Hibberd (Waituna) arc at the Hamilton Hotel. Captain W. 11. Hartman, who has been marine superintendent for the Shaw, Savlll ami Albion Company, at Wellington since February, 1933, is returning to 'the sea at his own request, and will take command of the company's liner .Mataroa after her arrival at Auckland from London on August 12. Captain A. Macintosh, at present in command of the Mataroa, will succeed Captain Hartman as marine superintendent at Wellington.
