LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. The following local observations on the weather are supplied by Miss Budd, of Messrs Balfour. Irvine and Webster, Limited, Hamilton: Barometer. Thursday 30.05 Friday 30.10 Thermometer. Max. Min. Wednesday 58 42 Thursday 55 40 Mean Temperature, 47.5 deg. The barometer reads 30.10 and has a rising tendency. Indications are for partly fair and partly overcast weather to-day and probably to-mor-row with colder temperature, north-west winds prevailing and occasional showers. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .101 n. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .40in. Rainfall for July to date, 1.71in. Average rainfall for July, 4.83in. Rainfall for year to date, 25.691 n. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikutoThnmes Vnlley In as follows: Forecast: Light to moderate south-westerly winds prevailing, veering to northerly before morning and later freshening. Weather fair and mild but unsettled conditions and rain probable on Sunday. Seas slight to moderate. General inference: Yesterday's depression has passed away eastward and an anti-cyclone is moving on to the Dominion with its centre to the north. A rather vigororous depression is located over the western Tasman Sea.
