PREPARATION FOR SOWING SEED POTATOES. SOIL.—It is best to select a variety that suits your particular type of land, but potato seed as a whole do best on medium to heavy soil. Good results have also been obtained on peat land that has been well drained and has had any sourness removed by liming. MANURE. —Potato crops respond very well to manuring, a complete manure being* best. Sulphate of Potash is particularly necessary as it is connected with the manufacture of Starch, which constitutes the great bulk of the Sabers. Super, Blood and Bone, and Sulphate Potash make a good mixture. Two dressings are better than one. SEED.—In largo sowing, use about 15cwts. seed per acre. The seed should be small and uncut. A better crop is obtained by sprouting the seed before planting. WATCH FOR FURTHER NOTES. You can obtain all your requirements for this season's gardening from* A. M. BISLEY <& CO., WARD STREET, HAMILTPNi Box 239 Phone 4100.
