The oonneotlone of Wlndeor Led were rather unfortunate that hls success In the Hack and Hunters’ Steeplechase at 'l'e Awemutu recently debarred hlm 'rom competlng In hunters' events at the Great Northern meetlng, and the only races ln whlch he can compete at the fixture are the Wlnter Steeplechase and the Tamakl Steeplechase to-morrow. He won easlly at Te Awamutu, Jumplng well throughout, whlle ‘ he showed more than average pace for a 'chaser and was stlcklng on well at the end. Wlndsor Lad has been schooled at Ellerslle twlce slnce hls arrlvel and he Jumped the country excellently. He comes from a good Jumplng famlly and Is a halfbrother to Capstar, who won a number of Jumplng races In the Auckland provlnce some years ago. Windsor Lad should show up In whlchever engagement he takes on to—morrow.
