The Lord Mayor, Sir Ferny Vincent, has issued a circular letter notifying the assent, ot‘ the King and Queen Mary to the memorial to the late King George.
”WW,“ Sir Percy points out that the late King will he commemorated not only by an imposing monument. in the very heart of the Empire, but also by treating centres 01' health and happiness throughout Britain. He appeals for generous support from a'il parts of the Empire.
The executive committee decided on May 16 that the late King George's memory should be pel'pclualed by the ul'eclion 01’ a statue on a sill: in Abing—--11011 Street, London. The site will be directly opposite the Victoria Tower of the Houses of Parliament. Also, play—ing llelds will he lald out throughout the country and each will be adorned wlth a memorial gale.
