INTOXICATED DRIVER
MAORI 111 MAIN STREIT. FINE OF £5 IXFLIC’I‘ED. Pleading guilty to charges of being ‘ intoxicated in charge at a motor car. ‘ driving a motor vehicle without. a drivi ing license, and tailing to keep to the left, a Maori, Thomas Paerama, otherwise known as Thomas John Kelly. a lorry driver, of iiagian. appeared in the Magistrate's Court, Hamill-on 10-day. before Messrs. G. W. Hyde, and G. K. Sinclair J'sP. Sergeant ’l‘. Kelly stated that. yesterday at about 6JO p.m. accused was driving a molar-car in \‘ictoria Street on the wrong side of the road and utter narrowly missing a car driven by 011‘ G. Sandford, at Hamilton, he was in\‘olved in a slight collision with a car driven by .\h- E. H. Cucksey. of Te Awamuiu. it was found that accused was in a stale of intoxication and had no driving license. He wa< taken to the police station, where a doctor confirmed the opinion regarding his condition. ‘

He was fined £5 on the first charge, 105 on each of me other two charges, and ordered to pay medical expenses £1 15, with the costs of the prosecution. Payment is to be made at, £2 a month, in default two months' impris. onmeut. ‘
