Eleven Consecutlva Frosts.——;\ frost. of 6.1; degrees recored at the iiuakura Farm of Instruction this morning was the eleventh consecutive frost recorded at \Vhitiora this morning was 4 degrees. The frost this. morning was more in the nature of a black frost.
Dalry Produno Dues.—-—An assurance that the dues customarlly collected by harbour boards would he paid on dairy produce shipped under the Govern—ment's guaranteed price scheme was given by the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. W. Nash, In the House or Repre—sentatives last evening.
A Heavy Loam—Mrs J. H. Tzurner, of Otahuhu. suffered a heavy loss yes—terday. She is a Dl‘Eeder of Angora rabbits and had 8. number in an enclosure. ’l‘nls has been entered by two dogs, and 30 rabbits, valued at £2 each, were found dead. One dog 'was shot.
Fire at Olaudelands.—An outbreak of fire in the kitchen of DetectiveSergeani. J. Thompson's residence in Biro Street, Giaudeiands, was responsible for a call received by the Hamilton Fire Brigade shorily after 11 o'clock last evening. The fire was caused by an electric iron being left turned on, but was extinguished before any serious damage resulted.
More School ‘Hoateln—An Indication that the Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Fraser, intends shortly to make a. complete survey of school hostels in New Zealand. and that, where hostel accommodation seems to be warranted and a commercial pro—posltlon. he would approve of schemes for their erection, was given by Mr W. G. Harwood. headmaster of the Rotorua High School, in a report. to the board of governors.
1 Bushman Found Shah—The body of Philip Charles Ludwig, bushman, was found in the bush at Te Hoi, about 25 miles from Taupe, with a bullet wound in the head and a .22 rifle with a discharged shell alongside. Deceased was married and had come from Auckland, At the inquest a ver—dict was returned that deceased shot himself with the rifle, there being no evidence to show whether it was done by accident or otherwise.

Dr. VVllliams, referred to man's tripartite constitution ——physlcal, intellectual and spiritual. Overhead Bridge Project.—The Minister for Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, announced yesterday that finality has been reached in the arrangemmns for the construction or an overhead road bridge between the new Wellington waterfront and the Hutt roads. It will provide for two-Win~ traffic over the railway line, and the cost will be in the vicinity of £34,000.
Dlvldend of 15 per coma—The ac—counts of \Vilsons (N.Z.) Portland Cement, Limited, for the year ended March. 31, SllO\\' a net profit £5986 higher at. £513,229, which is the best result since 1932. The year‘s clivldend is increased from 132 per cent. to 15 per cent. and the directors recommend payment of a Jubilee bonus of 5s a share, equal to 50 per cent.
Goodwlll Mlulon.—-’l‘he Hon. F. Langstone, Minister of Lands, accompanied by Mr J. O'Brien, MP. for W‘estland, will leave on a “goodwill mission“ to Samoa on June 16. Advantage will be taken of the opportun—ity to thoroughly investigate conditions obtaining in the island and to confer with the natives on the Government‘s intentions.
Empty Churches.-“We hear much talk of empty churches,“ said the Rev. 0. Gibson, of Tauranga, at the Dominion Conference of the Church of England Men‘s Society at Cambridge yesterday. “It is Said the churches are. not as full as they used to be, but it must be remembered that in other limes there was more of a tendency to go to church because it was considered ' the thing‘ to do so." Mr Gibson said a better quality of worshipper was more desirable than quantity.
