MR H. B. GOUPE. (Special to Times.) PUTARURU. \Vednesday. The employees and stem of the Taupe Totara Timber Company, Ltd.. gathered on Saturday to farewell Mr H. B. Coupe on his departure from Putsruru to take up residence in Takapuna, following his semi-retire-ment, from the management of the company. Mr Coupe was presented with a roll-topped desk and ofllce chair oompleteavith the necessary appurten—ances‘. a pair of binoculars and a compass. The presentation was made by Mr Parker, sei‘retary, \\'ho,‘speaking on behalf of the employees, stated thni Mr Coupe had joined the columns some 30 years ago, at a time when conditions were very different from those obtaining 10-day. ’l‘hroughoul. many vicissitudes, by Mr tioiupe‘s or—tganisation, the continuity 01‘ the com--pany had been ensured during a ionsr period and for many years to com-3. Mr Coupe. thanked the Igathering, and those of the employees and Staff who were not able to be present, for their gifts and for their goodwill toward him. lie stated that lit was very pleasing to see so mam’ with whom he had had such long as—sociation. He also called attention to the fact that without the assistanre [of his staff the results which the company had achieved could not have. been accomplished, and he thanked thrin for their computation. Mr Coupe is a well-known mv‘mlmr of Hit‘ Hamilton Club.
