RELIEF PAYMENTS.

NEW SCALE OPERATED. _— DETAILS OF INCREASES. _..... Under the new scale of pay for relief work which came into operation yesterday, single men will receive an increase of 3‘s a week on a log—hour‘ week. and married men will receive‘ from 115 Oil a weak extra for a 19% hour week 10 19s Lid a week extra for u 33i—llour week, according to their classilirnlion. The new rates are based on 25 an hour for the lime worked.
