A continuance of fair weather is indicated to-day and possibly to-morrow, with seasonable temperatures, southerly winds prevailing. The Palnfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .00in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .00in. Total rainfall for June to date, ,00in. Average rainfall for June, 5.19in. Rainfall for year to date, 26.12in. Average yearly rainfall, 46.32in. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued last evening by the Government meteorologist, were as follows: —An Intense anti-cyclone lies centrally over the Dominion to-day, while a shallow depression is located over the western Tasman. The indications are for light to moderate and variable winds, but northeasterlies or northerlios gradually setting in and freshening. Seas In New Zealand waters rather rough to rough between Castle Point and East Cape, but decreasing elsewhere; slight to moderate but later rising on the West Coast of the South Island and in Foveaux Strait. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate north-east to north winds, with slight to moderate seas, but wind and sea later rising. The weather Is likely to be fine generally at first, but cloud increasing and later rain gradually developing in western and far southern districts. Temperatures becoming gradually milder. SPECIAL FORECAST. The Government meteorologist issued last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province: — Light and variable winds, but north-easterlies soon prevailing and later freshening. The weather is likely to be fine and milder, but cloud and haze gradually increasing. Seas slight to moderate.
