New West Coast Road.—According- to a communication received by the Automobile Association the completion ol' an all-weather West Coast scenic motorinjr route between Hag-fan, Kawhin. Marakopa and Awakino is likely in the near future. Hoad improvements during the past few years have provided pleasant travelling: conditions from Hamilton lo the West Coast at Raglan and thence via Tc Mata and flic Bridal Veil Falls to Kawpia. Hood roads then circuit the Kawhin Harbour and lead down through pleasant country 10. To Anga and Marakopa to Moeatoa. South of tiiis point there arc several unbridged streams and six miles ot clay roads. Formerly it has bi\m neglected as far as maintenance is concerned. It is anticipated that provision will be made on the new season’s estimates for expenditure for the metalling of the clay roads and the bridging of the streams. When this work is completed it will he possible lo motor from Tuakau, keeping wcsl of the Great South Hoad, and at times touching the coast, as far south as Awakino, where the main highway between Te Kuili and JNcw Plymouth will be joined. • - -- —-
