_.—_._—— SCHOOL FAIR. A very successful fair in aid of school funds was held in the grounds or the Hauiapu school recently. Members of the committee and their wives and friends helped to make the affair a great success and in spite of the wet, weather there were many visitors. A Jumble stall in the charge of Mrs O‘Neill did brisk business, while the afternoon‘tes room was also well patronised. The nail-driving oompetition, in the charge of Mr W‘att, was won by Mr Stokes.

Mrs Peebles won the cake, made and given by Mrs Perry. The baby outfit. made by Miss Watt, was presented to Mr G. Mills. The soft

drink stall was in the charge or Miss M. Nicholson. Mr Frost won the putting competition, which was managed by Miss Appiehy. The clothesiine competition, which caused much amusement was won by Mrs O'Neill and Mr G. \Vatt, who tied for the prize. The School Committee were very pleased at: the amount realised during the afternoon. PERSONAL. Mrs Handcock. of Otahuhu, has returned home after spending a week with Mrs James Watt. Mrs R. Feissi. of Fencourt, has re—turned after spending a week in Auck—land. Mrs P. ‘Huni, of Fencourt, has left for Auckland. Mrs M. C. Tierney. of FencourL is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mrs Fan-rant, ol‘ llautapu, has left for Aualilnnd. Mrs Snow. of Auckland, is visiting her sister, Mrs S. D. Low, of Fen—court. Miss \V‘ilson, of Opotiki, is staying with Miss Burns, of Fencourt. Miss Ella ii‘risst. oi Fencourt, has been \‘isiling llnmilton. Mrs J. U‘lx’ccio, oi Fr‘m‘ourt, has returned from it Visit to Wellington.
