COLD SNAP EXPERIENCED. WAIKATO'S NEW FIGURES. RECORDING AT MORRINSVILLE. / (Special to Times.) MORRINSVILLE, Monday. A record frost recording for the \Vaikato was registered this morning when on the Department. of Agriculture's instrument at Morrinsvlller 16.9 degrees were shown. The previous record was for a recording of 16.4 degrees made at the Ruakura Farm of Instruction, in Ausust, 1929. TE AROMA SHIVERS. MOTOHISTS IN DIFFICULTIES. (Special to Times) TE AROHA, Monday The coldest weather for over four years was experienced in 'l‘e Aroha this morning when over 13 degrees of frost were recorded. The entire countryside was white enough to suggest a snowfall. while in many streets the ice was an inch thick. Many water pipes were frozen while all over the town groups of men could be seen “push-starting" motorcars whose semi-frozen engines defied the efforts of battery—starters and crank handles.
