TOWN BOARD MEETING. .... \\‘OMEN’S REST ROOM. (Special to Times.) PUTAIiURU, Saturday. At the may meeting or the Puiaruru Town Board Mr A. L. Mason presided. A deputation! or Oddrellows' Lodge mem—bers petitioned for the removal of restrictions over the hiring or the women's rest rooms. Mr N. Simmons stated that the increased size 03 the society necessitated their ohtainin‘a satisfactory accommodation in a large building. They wished to pay the \Vomens' Division or the Farmers’ Union for the use or their rooms but this was contrary to the Town Board's agreement. The chairman replied without committing the board that the proposed alterations to the Town ”all might possibly make that building a suitable one. He added that the lodge would be notified in due course oi’ the board’s attitude, but he did not think that the agreement with the Women's Division could be waived. A committee ot Messrs 11. Lindsey A. L. Mason and N. Ashrord was apopinted to deal with extended sanitary facilities at tho rut rooms. . Mr 11. Lindsay reported that he had ex‘nntihed the position of plots in the came‘tory and that a satisfactory number or ‘them could be allocated to the Returned tSoldlers' Association within the denomina‘tionai an'd undenominational sections. His report was adopted it was stated that as the Town Board was paying only 105 per day and that counties were paying 125 per day, it was ioniy right that employees of the board should he allowed to work on Saturday mornings. A motion to this effect was icarrled without dissent. The board‘s representative to the St. John Ambulance Committee. Mr K. MC‘ nermott. reported that the society sought the help or the local bodies. lie proposed that a donation of £2 25 be given, and this was approved. ' ‘ Dom-In Board. The annual report stated that a well bore had been drilled in the Domain and that an area or eight acres had been sown In grass. but that this had slightly deteriorated and was not,yet suitable for games or recreation. The board con'iirmed by resolution the matter or assuring by inspection that the terms or the agreement with the leasee he carried out and that ‘Messrs E. A. Barr-Brown and Puss be dele{rated to view the property. -
