FAREWELL EVENING.
FUNCTION AT HAIRINI. A pleasant, function was held in the Hairini Hall on Friday evening, when a combined farewell was tendered to • Mr and Mrs Ron Crozier and Mr G. j Glasson and Miss E, McDowell. Mr Crozier has accepted an appointment at. National Park, while Miss McDowell ! has resigned from the teaching staff 1 at the Hairini school in view of her approaching marriage. I Mrs Crozier was wearing black and ! peach chiffon velvet, and Miss Mc--1 Dowell's frock was of wine taffeta. Dancing, with Mr G. Dalton at the : piano, occupied the major part of the : evening, and Mrs J. B. McPhee played extras. Humorous items were given by Mrs McC.ready. Presentations were made to the : guests of honour by Mr Hall, chair- ! man of the School Committee, and | Ines McC.ready presented Miss McDowell with a posy of French marigolds and maidenhair fern. Mr Glasson replied on behalf of Miss Me- I Dowell and Mr Crozier responded on I behalf of Mrs Crozier.
