LADIES’ NIGHT.
SUCCESSFUL EVENING. The Morrinsville Returned Soldiers” Association held its annual “ladies'” night. in the Civic Theatre, recentl)‘. over a hundred people being accommo—dated at, tables decorated with red and black and with vases of autumn leaves The president. Mr E. C. N. l’tohinA son. welromed the ladies. and also the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs W. T. Osborne). and Mr \V. F. Stark, Morrinsville member of the Pinko County Council, and Mrs Stark. Members of the Te Aroha Pipe Band were present. and were thanked for their assistance at. the Anzac Day parade. Selections by the pipers were a fea—ture of the evening. A well—Varied concert, programme was given under the direction or Mr 1“. .\. Jennings. who was also the pianist. instrumental items were given by .1 trin. Missns L Campbell and M. Mrs llitl-lnnnn and Mrs \Vilrl. and Miss (‘.amnl'mll nnrl Mr Lee sang ducts, Mr 'l‘. Large played saxophone solos. and Miss J. Lanrr‘nson gave r‘lncntionary items. Musical monnlos’ues and vharaeter sketches were given by Mrs Harold Ftranze. of ‘Te Arolm. During the eveninr.r Mr C. B. Easther. a vice-president. proposed the toast of the ladies, to which Mr H. B. Drawer. another vice-president, re—plied. The Mayor, Mr Stark. and Mr R. Cnulter. 31.13.. responded to the toast of tho visitors.
