The popularity 01 Miss Norah Donald and Mr Clive Grou'be. who are Ihortly to be married. was evident by the large and representative attend—ance of friends at the social evening held in their honour in the Te Puningu Hall recently. Music was played by Mr S. Soho—fleld and extras were played by Mr J. Johansen. A dainty supper was served by the ladies of the Women's Division of the Farmers” Union. On behalf of residents of Te Puningu and surrounding districts. Mr H. M. Corbett asked Miss Donald to accept the many gifts with best wishes for her future happiness. Mrs S. Seholtteid. on behalf of the Te Punin-sa branch of the Women's Divioion or the Farmers' Union. made the prountatlon at an aluminium meat duh and cover to Miss Donald. who bed been assoctated with the branch since its inception. Mr R. IColquhoun. representing the Lodge Star of Piuko. U.A.0.D.. made presentation of an nluminium meat And referred to the fact that Miss Donald was one of the first lady menv ber- admitted to the lodge. Musical honours were accorded the guests of the owning and u very onlo‘yable function t-loswl with the singing of “Auld Lang~ Syne." Mr B. Haylock was 31.8. Among those present warm—Mes—dames D.
