__._.____ I LOCAL PORK MARKET. I {WANT .\T FARMERS' CONFERENCE! (Special importer.) AUCKLAND. Friday. .\ compulsory pooling system was advocated in order to increase the emciency of the marketing or pork products on the local market in o \Vaikatu remit that come before the Auck—land Provincial Conference or the Farmers' Union to-day. 'The remit which was moved by .\ir G. D. Hunter, llorshsm Downs, read:—“ We consider that it is essential for the efilclent marketing or pork products on the local market that a compulsory pooling system be enforced—all supplies tor the local trade to 'be drawn from the pool. The present. system frequently permits or the exploitation of consumer and producer." There was no difference in the quality or sxportable and unexportable pig carcases as far as food value was concerned. said Mr W. L. Banstead. Walkato. and thereiore it would be preferable that all caresses termed exportable should be exported and only carcases termed unexportable should be retained for local consumption. This would allow the present price dinerenre between an exportable and unexporiable carcase to be eliminated.
