GIFT AFTERNOON. . Misses E. and K. .\lncky were host—esses at. nn afternoon held at their home recently, tendered hy the Paterungi llockey Llluh to Misses Enid and Rene. Spivrs. who are lonving the (listrirt. to reside in To Awaimutu, and to Miss Eileen Karl. who is to be married shortly. The weather was gloriously fine and a host of friends was present to join in the various competitions—quoits, clock golf, word building and a menu contest. The winners were Mrs John Karl. junior, Miss Ella Shaw and Miss Mavis Macky. During the afternoon Miss E. .\lacky, on behalf of the hockey members, asked the Misses Spiers each to accept a crystal powder bowl as a token of the esteem their prowess and good work had won them in the club.
