Timber on the Kalmal.—The T.niranga Borough Council is concerned regarding a report that the erection of a sawmill on Ihe Kaimai is contemLands advised I hat so far'as°he'knew the Department had not given permission lor I lie ereclion of a sawmill on Crown lands thereabouts, bid the town cleric said a Hamilton resident had advised him that lie had purchased a block at Kaimai and was negotiating for other land for timber milling, tt was decided that the Commissioner of crown Lands be advised of all information ill possession of Ihe council and that lie be asked lo nolc the need for Hie conservation of the surrounding forest.
