There was a fair attendance of mostly local purchasers present. and ‘ good competition prevailed throughout. The best price realised was £7 i2: rid for a pen of 6 head and noihms brought less than £6 25 6d. They had been founded on selected Taranaki heifers and through careful farming the vendor has produced oi really first—class herd. CLEARING SALE AT MANGAITI. ~~ j The Farmers’ Co-operative Auction- | eering Company, Limited, report hav- ! in S held a successful clearing sale on j behalf of Mr J. Parton, at Mangaiti, on Wednesday. The herd, which comj prised a number of nice young Jer- ! sey and Jersey cross cows, second, i third and fourth calvers, came forward in good condition, and springing well up. Animated competition from a medium attendance of buyers resulted in the herd of 64 cows, all counted, averaging £5 18s 6d. Realisations were:—Best Jersey and Jersey cross cows, showing up 'well, £6 10s to £8; slightly later from £5 to £6 ss; late calvers. £3 15s to £4 15s; four-year bay gelding, £33; rising three-year bay gelding, £37; bay mare, aged, £lB 10s; bay filly, £lO. weaners, 4s to 5s 6d; sows in pig, £2 12s 6d to £3.
