OFEICERS IN HAMILTON. 1 EN ROUTE TO ROTORL‘A. Delighted with all they had seen since their arrival at. Auckland early this week, and keenly appreciative of the hospitality extended to them in every direction, the commander of the F-rench naval sloop, Snvorgnan de Brazza, Captain L. Robert, and six oilicers, Ensigns .\lilie. Marraud, Clayssen. Carmel. and Legrand and Com—-missai-re About, arrived in Hamilton yesterday, en route to Roiorua. The visitors, who were accompanied by Mr F. Dwyer, of the Internal Affairs Department, were met on arrival by the Mayor, Mr J. B. F‘ow. Mr G. A. Banrell, M.P., and the Town Clerk. Mr- w. L. \Vaddel. 'The Postmaster-General, the Hon. P. Jones, arrived at the same time as the “naval party, and the visitors were all entertained at morning tea at the Hamilton Hotel. Captain liobert and his offlters were greatly impressed with the ueauties ot‘ the VVaiKuiu River, which they suw from the hotel grounds, and they were particularly interested in the hull of the old ‘sunboat, Bangirlri, which lies embedded in the mud on the eastern bani; of the river. They asked many questions about the history of the old vessel. and the \Vaikato in general, and commented on the progressive appearance of Hamilton and the districts through which they had passed in motoring from Auckland. They con~ tinued their Journey to Rotorua shortly before mid—day. '
