HAMILTON APPOINTMENT. OVER FIFTY APPLICATIONS. HAWERA MAN SUCCESSFUL. Coming from all parts of the Dominion. 59 applications were received for the position of chief iramc inspector to the Hamilton Borough Council. These were reduced to three by the general purposes committee of the council, and at a special meeting last evening these three applicants appeared before the council to outline their qualifications. After hearing the applicants. the council decided by 12 votes to 1 to appoint Mr L. Hunt, of Hawera, to the position. Mr Hunt. who has been tune inspector at Hawera for the last thirteen years. formerly represented New Zeaiand at athletics and Taranaki at footbail.
