During the past two years farmers have realised that to impimc the quality or their products they must improve their tiairyin-g methods. and that is one of the reasons why .\lacEwan‘s machin—ery has rapidly gained in popularity. Now, how—ever, they can easily dispose of the flood waters on their low-lying lands by the installation of one of Mac— Ewan‘s Flood Water Pumps. Simple to operate and inexpensive to run. these, pumps can he obtained with capacities from 50,000 gallons per hour to 300,000 gallons per hour and are the ideal units for the farmer troubled with floorl water. The pump in operation on the stall is working at 160,000 gallons per hour. Mac Ewan‘s Hydraulic rams in two sizes suitable for farm use can also be inspected—a special model being in working order. MacEwans assure 25 per cent. greater capacity with their latest models. The firm has incorporated in its new L.K.G. Millie-r Sowerhy‘s Im—proved Vacuum 'Choke, and farmers should make every opportunity to inspect this invention. The method is. undoubtedly, a decided improvement. the principal feature being that cows milked under this system have their circulation unimpaired. The old milkers stopped the circulation in the teats to a great; degree but this improved method allows the circulation to run normally. The firm has given this improvement exhaustive tests and has found that with this machine, milking is more efllicient with 9ins. of vacuum than with tfiins. of vacuum under the old system and besides being quicker and cleaner the circulation of the cows is not affected. This innovation gives .a safety in milking that has never been attained in any milking machine plant. To the practical farmer who wishes to secure the Lbest results from each individual cow in his herd the MacEwan Improved L.‘i\'.G. Milking .\iachine has special appeal. Besides the new ‘Vaeuvum Choke the machine is remarkably easy to keep clean, is economical in upkeep and is a Job that will last a lifetime with a maximum of efficiency. These features are more fully developed than ever before in the latest model. Months of faster. smoother, and more economical milk—ing have proved 'beyond doubt the emciency of this machine.

In places where there is a creek bore or a well on the property one of these machinel is the natural method of water reticulation. There is a large pump for alcommunity scheme of water reticulatin-g several large farms. The pressure can be maintained at city pressure with-out tanks or containers. The machine is Just placed alongside the creek and the pipes run out to the various points on the farm. The automatic switch ensures a maximum pressure 311 the time. A smaller model, suitable for one farm is also man-u—----fa-ctured by the firm and both are on display at. the Show. An inspection should also 'be made of the beam deep—well gearing. This ‘geai'ing is self—oiling, has a variable stroke, and a totally-enclosed gear that runs in oil. It is. moreover. vounter—balanced and will run for months without attention. They are now making a heavy duty beam type gearing which is also on display on their stand. The general pump display also com—i prises the latest vertical centrifugal pumps.
