SILVER WEDDING. . A most enjoyable evening was heldl recently at. the residence of Mr and Mrs H. B. Anderson, of Whaiawhata, to celebrate the anniversary or their [silver wedding. Many friends andl relatives were present. many of whom‘ were present at the wedding twentyflve years ago. Games and dancing were enjoyed by the younger people. Violin solos. rendered by Mr G. Kerby, or Hamil—ton. were much appreciated. During the evening toasts were honoured, the party being brought to a close with musical honours to Mr and Mrs Anderson. I GROQUET CLUB AFTERNOON. ' A most successful card afternoon organised :‘by members of the Whats-l 1 whata. Croquet Club was held in the hall on Friday. There was a good, attendance and a very happy afternoon was spent. The euohre proved very interesting, a number of players obtaining the same score. the eventual winners being Mrs Eyre 1, Mrs Drower 2, Mrs Snell 3. The non-card players were enter—tained with a series of competitions. which were very amusing. The winners were :——Mrs G. Chitty I, Miss M. Egan 2, Mrs Rowe 3. Good business was done at the sales table. A delicious afternoon tea was, served during which the president, Mrs Egan. presented the winner of the Lee Martin Cup, Mrs Magner, with the trophy.
