| suunnv scHOOL FUNCTION. ‘ On Friday afternoon there was a large gathering of ehildren and parents or the ’l‘irau Sunday School in View of the departure of the Rev, \V. Davis and family from the parish. . Games were played and :1 Juvenile programme was given by the children 'under the training of Mrs McKenzie; On behalf of the Sunday School and} the people of the -mngt‘e~gation and dis—‘ trict, Mr Li VVzitkins made the presentation to Rev. Davis of an elec—tric reading lamp and word, and to Mrs Davis of an electric toaster. for her services In the Sunday School. Mr L.I \\'atkins expressed appreciation of the splendid work done by the minister and his family and the regret of the parish at their departure. Mr Owen Amoore spoke of the great help Mrs and Miss Davis had been to the Sunday School, and called on Sonia Wilson to present parting gifts to Betty and Billy Davis. The Rev. Davis responded on behalf of himself and family and thanked the donors for their gifts and the kind feelings they had expressed He said they would always retain kind remomhrances of their Tirau friends. Proceedings closed with a vote of thanks to Mrs McKenzie for preparing the programme.
