A. O’Ualiaghan and F. a W. Johnston were re-eiected, the t votes being: Mr O'Caliaghan 57,834. 5 Mr Johnston 57,719. Mr James .\lo—--5 Intosh polled 40,492 and Mr \V. .\I. , King 40.397. - Mr Todd said that if all the ques- , tioned votes and proxies in favour 01 3 the elected candidates \\Tere rejected, 5 and all the questioned votes in favour 1 of the other candidates allowed, the 1 voting would still stand in favour of Messrs O‘Callaghan and Johnston. 3 Mr Todd congratulated them on 3 what he called their victory. It had -. been a hard fight and things had been ; said which in a cooler moment might not have been said. Whether the com~ ' mittee would require to have some ‘ different standing by Way of represen—- ’ tation had'not yet been decided, but if that were thought necessary appro-' ' priate steps would be taken so that the committee would have omcial standing in any negotiations with the company. So far as he was aware, he said, whatever action had been taken had not been done without recognising the valuable work the company had done for the motoring public. and no desire had ever been evinced that it would he destructive of the success of the company. He would he very sorry indeed to see the company suffer as the result of whatever action might have been taken. ___.—
