Her Majesty Queen Mary. is cele—brating her 69th. birthday to-day. The Governor-General Viscount Galway, has sent the following message to Queen Max‘yz—“Lady Galway and I join with the Government and people of New Zealand in tendering Your Majesty respectful congratulations and good wishes on the occasion at Your Majesty‘s birthday."
The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. .\i. J. Savage, arrived in Hamilton by the Limited express from Wellington this morning. 'He was entertained to morning tea by the Hamilton branch of the Labour Party and in company \vitn the Mayor, Mr J. R. Fow, visited the town's beauty spots before being entertained to lunch by the Waiimto Winter Show Association. He omcially opened the show this afternoon and will meet a number of deputations before returning to Wellington this evenmg.

Sir Lindo Ferguson, who has been senior honorary ophthalmic surgeon to the Dunedin Public Hosnlial for 52 years. yesterday terminated his service in this capacity.
The Rev. Dr. 'T. Perrier Hulme, of Bristol. who has been visiting the Dominion, wlll leave by the Niagara tonight for Canada on his return to England.

Heakes, who recently resigned from the position of Director-General of Agriculture.
