WAIPA UNION'S AFFAIRS. WEEKLY MEETING HELD. (Times‘ Representative). TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday. The weekly meeting of the VVaipa Rugby Union management committee was held last evening, Mr H. Worthington presiding. Mr G. Spinley notified his acceptance of om-ce as vice-president and forwarded a donation. A challenge for the Cucksey Cup. received from the Cambridge SubUnion, was referred to the Junior Advisory Board. An invitation from the Maniapoto Union {or the Waipa Union to send its Junior representatives to play at T 6 Kuiti on July 4 was also referred to the advisory board. The secretary reported that the New Zealand Union had adopted the remit from Waipa requiring clearances for players transferring from one club to another. He added that the parent! body also requested all sub-unionsrtol play three men in the front row of] Serums—Received. Accounts totalling £6 is 10d were passed for payment. It. was decided to play the RoversTe Awamutu senior match originally‘ arranged for May 16 on the King's; Birthday, Wednesday, June 23. [ Mr R. ‘H. Ensor was appointed senior l selector. Tho secretary was instructed to! write to the central committee at Hamilton concerning the lack of punc— I tuality of teams competing in the in-] ter—union senior competition. It wasl mentioned that last Saturday thel visiting team was late, and a fortnight ago another visiting team was also! behind time. Injuries had caused the Rovers Club to be very short of players, and the! secrcim‘y was instructed to write to‘ the ,Te Awamutu Club asking, it the club had a surplus of players, would it. agree to transfer some of them to the Rovers Club. It was decided to ask the Hockeyl Association to co-operate with the 'union on Saturday afternoons by placing a. gatekeeper at a small enltrance gate in Pal‘k fiend. ____——.
