In view of the fact that each suc—ceeding Wailtato Winter Show in recent years has seen a new record reached in the number or entries, it; would seem almoet impossible that still better figures should he I'E'l corded this year. But the seemingly impossible has been accomplished, and, what is more remarkable, this year‘s entries have exceeded last year's total by many hundreds, the 1935 figures being trebled in some cases. I The most noticeable advance is in the photography section, in which enliries urt- practically [our times the 5 number of those or last year. The sup- | port accorded this section is unprel t-cricnird and instead of being a com—parativcly mint}: division it has become this ycar one of the most interesting l’calurcs. The art section has also llicrn strongly supported. in keeping with the nature of the district which the show represents, the agricultural and horticultural sec—tions have attracted solid support, the aggregate of cntries in these classes {being in excess of 530, or over 100 greater than last. year. In passing, it ' is interesting to compare these figures with those of the inaugural show in 1907. when the combined agricultural and horticultural entries totalled 160. And in spite of the big increase since then, the 1907 entries were very creditable. Intoruto of Women.
