PosI'I’ION IN KING COUNTRY. ATTITUDE OF' SE'IVI‘LEBS. (Sprain! to Times). TE: KUITI, Sunday. A proposal to merge with the Auckland Provincial Farmers‘ Union was not favoured at a meeting oi the central executive of the King Country Amalgamated Settlers' Associations on Saturday. There we practically no Farmers' Union members in the area. covered by the associations and the secretary, Mr J. Jones. stressed the need tor some body to be recognised by the Government as omcinliy voicing ihe opinion 0! the (armors or the central Kins Country. It was decided that the meeting to be held to form a To Kuiti Settiera‘ Association should be informed that the ultimate objective was to form a King Country Farmers' Union.
