From a scrum Technical worked the blind side. Porteous making a brilliant run down the side line. He was stopped within a few yards for the line and Te Awamutu worked back out of danger. Spectacular Play. Play was centred in the mid—field for a long time and was confined mainly to the forwards. An exciting interlude was provided when the ball went out to the backs and Stevens passed out to Porteous. who made a. brilliant dash down the line and gained the back lie. adding three more points to Technical‘s account.
