nWinner trained by M. J. Carroll. 'Te apa. The Te Rape trained Le Chasseur tollowlng his consistent trials- was well sup—ported on both machines and Jumping out smartly from .\‘o. a position was never headed. Staying on well he won decisively. Glenthawn and Solas were handily plaCEd throughout. Gay Papa did best or the others and should improve. Frances Acre and Superior Guard got the worst oi’ the start. Le Chasseur Jumping out and leading along the back tram Salas. Glentbawn, Ruaville and Glenation. Le Chasseur still had charge across the top where Salas was next in front or Glenthawn, Ruaville, Stormy Weather, Lilbert and Little saint. The favourite was clear at the home turn with Gienation following and Ruaville, Solas, Liibert and Stormy Weather in that order in front or the bunch. In the straight Le Cbasseur came through to win decisively by two lengths from Gienthawn who beat Soias by a length. Gay Papa was fourth followed by Stormy \Veather. Al'ways handily placed, he came through in the straight to win decisively. .\latoru was going» well at the end but Valspear faded out inside the distance, after setting the pace from barrier rise. \‘alspear was showing out early from Gloucester and this pair lead along the back from Fiit Acre, Racemosus, Hunting Mars and Banti‘y. Val< spear was still the pilot as they raced across the top. with Gloucester closely following, in front or .\iatoru, Pukeko. Trouvaille, Racemosus. Hunting Mars and Dantl'y. Vols-pear turned for home in front of Gloucester anti Pukelm with .\iatol‘u. Trouvaiile. Hunting .\lars, Racemosus and liantry the nearest or the others. Pukeko came through at the distance, and going on. won nicely by a length from .\iatoru. who beat \‘alspear by three-quarters of a length, Hunting .\iars was fourth and then came Trouvaille, i’lit Acre, Banll‘y, Respectinland Gloucester. Theer was some delay at the start, but when they went away Sir Tommy shot to the front, from Black Thread, Professional. Dork Shadow. .\lungacre and Sweet Rose. Sir Tommy and Black Thread were still making play as they raced across the top, with Professional, llungacre, Dark Shadow, Sweet nose and Armaronrt in that order.
